Step 1: Complete XCEL Solutions’ pre-licensing course that has been approved by the Department of Insurance. Once you have completed your course, XCEL Solutions will issue a certificate of completion which you may download and print from your online XCEL Solutions account.

Step 2: Schedule your exam with your state’s testing provider, Pearson VUE. Payment is due at the time of booking.

Your exam may be scheduled at one of Pearson VUE’s physical testing locations or via remote testing using Pearson VUE OnVUE Online Delivery option.

Step 3: Make a fingerprint reservation by going to https://pearsonwest.ibtfingerprint.com or calling IDEMIA at (866) 761-8069.

Step 4:  Pass your state licensing exam. On the day of your appointment, you must bring with you one valid form of government issued identification (driver’s license, passport, military I.D., etc.) that must contain a photograph and a signature.  The other must contain your signature and legal name. You must also supply your certificate of completion as proof of prelicensing education completion. You will not be able to take your exam if these requirements are not met.

Step 5: After submitting your fingerprints, apply for your license via SIRCON. 

Step 6: Get back in touch with your recruiter or manager who paid for your XCEL enrollment. They will guide you through new agent training and contracting as well as acting as your mentor throughout your career. Welcome to FFL!
