Choice

As long as you keep complaining, you will not get what you desire.

Throughout the years, I have worked with many people in sales. I’ve been taught by masters that I respect, and I’ve had the pleasure to train some of the most successful salespeople we work with.

On a rare occasion however, I will talk to someone who complains to me about how it is harder for them than for others.

I had the chance to do some really great training a year or so ago that spoke directly to me on this. I know I have written about this before, but it’s good to remind ourselves of the role of circumstances and choice….

Here is how I see things:

Everything you believe to be true – is true.
Everything you believe to be true about your life, about your past, about your circumstances, about your job, about the people you love … is true.

It is all true – and it does not matter.

What matters is how you want your life to look.
What matters is the world you choose to live in.

You are not held by circumstances.
You are not held back by your past or your problems.
Nor by a lack of confidence or skill.

If you feel held back, it is because you have chosen to disregard your most compelling reasons to move forward.

What do you ache for? What is your supreme concern? What is the most important thing that matters to you? Let the answer pull you forward.

Consuming more information will never solve whatever problem you think you have.
You are already creative, resourceful and whole.

Choose choice. Escape the clutch of circumstances. Beat the bludgeoning of chance.

Make a decision today that everything you have done, everything you do – and everything you will do is the consequence of your choices.

Put the reins to your life back in your own hands.

Winners (for lack of a better word) do not simply float around in life. They do not react. They do not whine, complain or cry aloud. They do not make excuses. They do not blame their circumstances.

They celebrate that they are ultimately and unequivocally in charge of their choices, and make sure there is no discrepancy between what they want to do and what they think they have to do.

What world do you choose to live in?
